Hurray! Here we are....

Welcome to the official blog of African Reformers in Italy (AFRIT). We are excited to start this new project, with the goal of reaching many Africans in Italy and beyond.

We are a great people, endowed with many gifts and talents. However, our reputation in most parts of Europe and the world at large seem contrary. It is our responsibility to show others how we want to be treated, and we do that through our character and comportment.

We can do much more, better than we are doing now. AFRIT was born out of this necessity. The need to re-orientate ourselves, to change our mindset and realize that our present environment in the western world is not an inhibition but an opportunity. We do not deny the reality of racism, instead we believe that even with racism, we can achieve great things. We believe that joining our hands to help one another climb the ladder of success, is the way to lifting our African community in Italy and other parts of Europe.

Although there are African doctors, nurses, engineers, lecturers, etc in Europe, the most popular narratives about Africans are mostly about prostitution, drug trafficking and violence. We are here to change that narrative. We hope to contribute to creating a more pleasant narrative about Africans in Italy. We hope to make a change.
